About the Instructor

Joyce Poh holds a Masters in Music from the University of Sheffield and has been serving in the music ministry for almost 40 years. She has been involved in contemporary worship for more than 30 years in various capacities (pianist, worship band music director), and is a member of Pentecost Methodist Church.

What others say:

“Joyce is the worship band leader in Pentecost Methodist Church where I serve in the worship band as a saxophonist. Joyce plays an important role within the band by weaving together the various instrumentation. She is able to do this because she has a wonderful ear in recognising the various musical elements of the worship songs that we play. This has allowed me (the saxophonist) to complement the band and add colour to the band’s interpretation of these songs. Joyce is also an excellent mentor. She is patient and clear when explaining what is needed musically.”

– Jason Lie, worship saxophonist, Pentecost Methodist Church
